#7 Cleaning

I’m currently in the middle of rewriting the first novel which I have tentatively named Living with Saci as it features the character from Brazilian Folklore who only has one leg, smokes a pipe, wears a red hat and causes mischief wherever he goes.

However, today I managed to successfully avoid any rewriting by cleaning the house from top to bottom. I did feel guilty as I cleaned, dusted and vacuumed but having a daughter who is allergic to dust and suffers from asthma there are some things that unfortunately sometimes have to come before writing.

The rewriting has been going reasonably well and I am confident  that the changes I’ll be implementing this week will resolve the doubts I had about the first rough draft.

The second novel is kind of on hold while I finish the rewrite which I hope to achieve within the next couple of weeks despite the fact that I think I need to add around 14000 more words to bring it up to proper novel length.

At least moving the sofa to Hoover underneath recovered four ping pong balls and a toy rat which please the cats no end.
